Annual Report for Boston organization empowering youth with Afro-Latin heritage.

Hyde Square Task Force (HSTF) is a Boston-based non-profit organization that works to amplify the power, creativity, and voices of youth, connecting them to Afro-Latin culture and heritage so they can create a diverse and vibrant Latin Quarter. Collaborating with HSTF via MORE Advertising, I designed various materials in English and Spanish, including branding, reports, and event collateral.

In 2023, I designed their Annual Report, marking our most successful collaboration. The challenge was to create a visually engaging and culturally resonant report that highlighted their achievements from the previous year, especially an inaugural youth trip to Puerto Rico. I employed vibrant colors, patterns, and textures that were taken from and inspired by their trip photos, as well as from several murals and art pieces created by the members that summer, using them to accentuate the dynamic layouts I created to reflect the organization's spirit and mission.

Despite tight deadlines and the need to integrate an unsteady stream of bilingual content on the fly, my design for their 2023 report proved to be our most fruitful collaboration to date. It was met with high praise from the Program Directors, who said they ‘LOVED it!’ and that it was ‘the most beautiful report HSTF has ever had.’ It was also a winner at the 30th annual Communicator Awards under the non-profit print content distinction.
